Hall Lid?
Question:
I have in my head that this is a lid to a Hall casserole; however, I cannot find it anywhere. Help! Answer: Here's one of the best Hall sites I've found...but I don't see that pattern. It looks like Hall to me too. http://hallchina.home.att.net/ Answer: Did you ever find out who made it/pattern name? I looked through my Collector's Encyclopedia of American Dinnerware and didn't see you decal in it. Funny, I'm having the same problem IDing a lid I picked up a couple of weeks ago that I thought might be Hall or Harker or ? I could have sworn I seen the pattern before but like you I can't find it. Arrrrggg. Maybe we should make this thread the mystery lid thread. lol Anyways, here's mine in case anyone recognizes the pattern/maker. Hope you don't mind me sharing your thread auctiongueen. Answer: Nope, never did find mine but admit that I haven't been looking hard. It will probably be next week before I can focus on it again. Figured I would go ahead and bump this thread up. That's about as much help as I can give. Answer: I forgot about Harker. There must be a decent site with their patterns as well... Answer: This is the only Harker ID site I have. I found some of their links are Page Not Found but the backstamps and the Harker Gallery at the bottom of the page works. They have a lot of named patterns. Harker Pottery USA Auctionqueen I'm 99% convinced your lid was made by Universal Potteries. The evidence. lol A Universal casserole. Blue stripe instead of red. A Universal jug with your decal and they show the backstamp. The only mention I could find of a 'name' for your decal is in the Offical Price Guide for Pottery & Porcelain by Harvey Duke. He called it Chrysanthemum for whatever that's worth. I found mine also. It was made by Homer Laughlin and has the wonderful pattern name of KK350 according to Robbins Nest website, the only place I could find that decal.
