Canada's Blue Mountain Pottery
Question:
Blue Mountain Pottery (BMP) was Canada's largest manufacturer of quality giftware pottery from its introduction in 1947 until the plant closed for good December 2004 ending a 57 year business. Located in Collingwood, Ontario, BMP produced various types of pottery, from animal figurines to jugs, pots and vases. The company's products have a large fan base and are collected world-wide. With up to 5,000 registered collectors worldwide, Blue Mountain Pottery will still be sought after at flea markets and online auction houses, said Doreen Heenan, 74, who has 1,458 pieces of the pottery at her home near Belleville. Blue Mountain Pottery seems to be doing very well now on eBay. Company closed on December 31, 2004, and took their site down. So, anytime you see BMP, make sure you snatch it up for resale. Answer: Thanks for the info. My husband recently picked up a minor piece of BMP. Nice to know It might sell for a decent price. Answer: Well I have a boatload of it on ebay and it's been there for several months. (Well, maybe a canoe's worth! lol) Luckily I don't have a lot of money invested in it. Maybe it'll sell some day. Jo Answer: I intended to save my dolphins for a bit longer. With the pending increased shipping and the low EB stocks I think I'm going to list fairly soon. Just waiting for the summer slump to be over. I hadn't read BM had gone out of business. Once again, sad. The longer you hold onto them, I presume, the better deal you will get.
