Has anyone seen one of these black cats before?
Question:
I have a small porcelain figurine of an arched black cat (approx. 5 1/2 inches tall) from Cmielow, Poland. Attached are some thumbnails. Does anyone have any information about this? Answer: Hello Simcrook, I don't know the age of yours but there is some information about the Cmielow Porcelain cats on this site. I love the look of them. http://www.thecatgallery.co.uk/acata...Porcelain.html Answer: Cool cat! I found yours, and the site's got its history, a good price and everything! (I'll certainly be keeping my eye out for these kitties!) http://www.czeczko.com/product_info....6ea64c05958fb6 Answer: Gorgeous kitty. Answer: Originally Posted by knicknacnook Cool cat! I was doing a little more research and found that the Cmielow factory had a fire in the 60's and production ceased. Lately, a number of the original moulds were retrieved and production restarted. The cat that I have was created prior to the fire, and the link you provided shows the same cat figurine post fire. There are some differences in the glazing: there are six white stripes on the tail of the cat that I have as opposed to 4 on the new firings. The underside of the tail is also glazed white on the cat that I have. The backstamp is also apparantly different on the new firings as well. Interesting history to these kitties! Answer: LOL otter comes to mind at first glance. Neet item. Answer: I know, we call it the alien cat... Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
