Help with pottery ID
Question:
Purchased an interesting pottery vase from an antique shop here in Florida. Gentleman thought it to be some kind of experimental vase. The base is marked ????granite (maybe, "finegranite). Than the Rd No. dating it to 1880's Below are three initials in capital letters. First I cannot make out, maybe I or F and than W.G. http://home.ix.netcom.com/~darlynmae1/vase1.jpg Anyone with ideas as to maker? Answer: Hi Dar, That's a beautiful vase. Can we get a close-up image of the marks? It would certainly help in trying to identify. Hopefully, someone can identify your beautiful vase. Answer: http://ix.netcom.com/~dejavu2/vasemark.jpg Answer: I keep getting a "The page cannot be displayed" error when trying to view the vase mark. Answer: Coming up fine for me, will you try again? http://ix.netcom.com/~dejavu2/vasemark.jpg Answer: Try this link: http://home.ix.netcom.com/~dejavu2/vasemark.jpg Yep, that works but what's weird is that I'm sure I looked at the first link earlier today and saw the image?? Answer: Here are some pictures: Answer: Hi dejavu, welcome to here. The initials are FWG but I have not been able to find out what company that stands for. I also don't think it is an experimental piece because I found some others by the same company. I'm pretty sure the 1st word is Pomegranite. Below are some links to the pieces I found, maybe they'll be of some help. Pomegranite FWG with elephant mark. Biscuit jar. Daisy platter. Hattie Answer: Hattie, you are wonderful!! Nice to see the mark more clear and now I can investigate further to discover the company. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
