GD & Cie
Question:
This is marked with an underglaze transferred bluish-black GD & Cie LIMOGES FRANCE Any ideas who they were, and when? Presumably after the McKinley Act took effect, but the style looks earlier than that. Answer: Do you have an image of the mark? That would certainly help. GD could stand for Gerard and Dufraissex of Limoges, France. Cie stand for Company. I don't have much info on French pottery. Answer: It's looking favourite for G. Demartine & Cie on this one. Around 1890-1910 was their period of production, so far as I can gauge. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
