Great News for the Pottery Forum - Must Read
Question:
From this day forward, everyone who participates in the Pottery Quizzes will receive those coveted here Points.

At the current time, the quizzes will be held on a monthly basis and last for one week. That will hopefully give everyone who wishes a chance to participate.

Participants: Receive 10 here Points for taking the quiz and posting your honest score in the thread before the quiz ends.

Winners: Receive 100 here Points for being the first person with the highest honest score. You can research while you're taking the quizzes to get your best score possible.

Quiz Creator: Receive 75 here Points for creating a Pottery, Porcelain and/or Ceramics Quiz. If you create a quiz, you have to do it on your own without copying it from the Internet. I will post the quizzes on first come, first serve basis.

For Quiz Creators, you must PM me with the Question, Answers, and references in the following format.

Question 1
Four Answers

Question 2
Four Answers

Question 3
Four Answers

And so on for up to 10 questions. You may have more questions if you wish.

Then at the bottom of the PM, please give me the following:

Question 1 Answer, with reference (Book Title, Author, & Page Number)
Question 2 Answer, with reference (Book Title, Author, & Page Number)
Question 2 Answer, with reference (Book Title, Author, & Page Number) And, the very best news. The here Points are Retroactive for supporting us and participating in the quizzes since they started last October. Give a big "Thank You" to JIM.

The here Points will show up in your accounts, but you will not see them in your MYhere profile as you normally do. The points have to be added manually, therefore, the only way you will know that you have received the here Points from the Pottery Quizzes is when your Points increase for no apparent reason.

I'm looking forward to being very busy counting here Points for distribution.

Let's have some fun while we're learning!
Answer:
Yippee! Hopefully that will help increase participation. Great news.
Answer:
Applause for elizdale! (and Jim for all his hard work too)
Answer:
Yeah!!
Answer:
Cool. I think that these quizzes are far more productive than (most of) the "300 Seconds" challenges, and I am glad to see that it is being acknowledged. You have put a lot of effort into doing these, and presenting them, and I thank you. These are a great educational tool, interesting and an opportunity to discuss variations in knowledge or terms.
I figure that I don't really earn the points though, because, while I do not cheat, I do wait until the answers are up and fill in the "form", then check off against your published answers. I do this because the web form won't work with my security settings, although I have not tried to find out whether your site works if I put it into my trusted sites. Is there any chance that Jim can create a non-Java(?) form for this purpose? In any case I enjoy doing them, even if I do them late.
Again thank you, Kevin

Ditto what Kevin said and add my own thanks to both Elizdale and Jim.
This is just another of those little things that makes here such a great place to hang out.
