Question:
I found this large art pottery 15 inch bowl at a thrift store. It has only Bauer inscribed on the bottom. Could this be real Bauer from California or another company? I read that Bauer did make some art pottery around the 50’s and early 60’s before they went out of business.

There are few things that I would say I have some expertise in, but this is one of them. Your piece definitely wasn't made by the Bauer Pottery company that you're thinking of. No doubt that it was made by some studio potter, some of which have value -- so you should try to check out studio pottery marks if you can. Good luck!

Thanks for the fast reply. The more I look at it, I came to the same conclusion.
I will have to do some more research on this peice, but the mark is not alot to go on.
