Dept 56 bell musician porcelain ornaments
Question:
How in the world do you find info on older Dept 56 ornaments? I can't find anything except sites that sell villages and snowbabies. And a few old items on ebay; but it seems that without the original names of the items it's impossible to find them in a search. Help! Elaine Answer: Here they are: About 3 inches wide and 3.5" high. Ceramic of some sort. Porcelain? (white inside the bell and body) Fairly heavy. The painting is in pretty good shape except for the gold on the bell which seems to change color from the oil on your fingers, etc. There is a nick on the song book right in front... I found these on ebay that look similar in size. But they are metal and the paint is shiny. http://cgi.ebay.com/Dept-56-Snowman-...QQcmdZViewItem I'd say the clothing would place them in the Dickens era design-wise. Hmmm. Did Dept 56 make ornaments that coordinated with the villages? Answer: Try here, Elaine! http://www.replacements.com/collect/DPT_801502.htm Answer: Looks like the guy on the left in my photo is Martin, the Mandolinist. http://images.replacements.com/images/images5/china/C/department_56_merry_makers_with_box_P0000013357S00 09T2.jpg','Martin-The Mandolinist -Boxed Thanks Kathleen! Answer: http://www.mattlake.com/dept56.htm I'm guessing the guy in the tophat is 9354-8 Sidney the Singer http://www.mattlake.com/H-MM.htm But he's not a monk, so I don't know for sure. ----------- edited to say: I think these are the ones: 9383-1a Sinclair the Singer Ornament 1993 $13.50 1996 9383-1b Martin the Mandolinist Ornament 1993 $13.50 1996 Answer: Being on my second "all nighter", it's absolutely useless for me to try to help. I'm lucky I can still type a relatively coherent sentence. Answer: WRONG. Sidney is here http://cgi.ebay.com/merry-makers-sid...QQcmdZViewItem Sinclair is here http://cgi.ebay.com/Dept-56-Merry-Ma...QQcmdZViewItem (although maybe that one's mislabeled, cause that ornament looks like a monk skiing to me...) but Martin does look like the right name anyhow http://cgi.ebay.com/Dept-56-Merry-Ma...QQcmdZViewItem Answer: Originally Posted by Kathleen Being on my second "all nighter", it's absolutely useless for me to try to help. Thanks for your help! There's no rush, really. I've had these for more than a year... Answer: Merrily We Roll Along Carolers and Goat Cart The singer/caroler might be based on that one... http://cgi.ebay.com/Dept-56-Merry-Ma...QQcmdZViewItem Answer: Originally Posted by goodworks1 Why are you 'allnighting' again tonight?
