Bed Skirt Question (slightly OT)
Question:
Ok, maybe this already exists and living in rural Oklahoma I just haven't seen it, but there's gotta be a better way of dealing with bed skirts. We have three dogs, and while they aren't allowed on the bed or furniture, one sleeps against my side of the bed getting the skirt dirty and full of hair. Getting the skirt off, washing it, and getting it back on a queen size mattress is a royal pain in the patootie. I'm ready to just staple velcro around the box spring and make my own removeable one. Has anybody else done this, or is it available somewhere? I swear someone could make some $$$ marketing this. Answer: I do think I've seen somewhere (catalog?) one that comes off easily, but not sure if it was velcro and not really sure where I saw it. It sounds like a good idea, but I'm thinking that little kitty claws might be able to pull it free of the velcro, making it tough to keep straight. Answer: They sell bedskirts that have elastic around the edges, so you don't have to keep lifting up the mattress... http://www.innovations.com.au/cda/pr...648-17,00.html Answer: Thanks for the link, Tina. I hadn't thought about elastic. It's a great idea. Unfortunately white is out of the question with a black dog. Note to self. Next project:Trying to sew my own from a matching flat sheet. Answer: can somebody help me out here? I cannot get to their website, no matter what I do....even innovations.com I'd really like to see that bed skirt, cause I'm redoing our bedroom, and I'm thinking that making one to match the curtains would be cool.....adn they make 6' scarfs.... TIA Answer: I gave up using bedskirts years ago for that very same reason... Now I I just take a matching fitted sheet and put on over the boxspring mattress.
