(I spent the first 45 or so years ticked off that no one except my mother remembered my birthday or sent me a card....so I've gradually come to the conclusion that I'll use this day to thank my Mom and Dad for having and raising me and to give surprises to other folks who mean something special to me. It just seems like a lot more fun than being irritated and disappointed.)

My sister and her 6 year old son came by today (spring break) and we cut each other's hair and packed them up to send to Wigs for Kids. Between the two of us we had 28"!!!
Then we each got new hairdos! Lighter heads and easier maintenance! Yippee! She did a nice job on mine (with only a little bit of coaching as she worked)

My sister lives several hours away and we haven't actually seen each other in person since December. I'm really glad she decided to drive down and spend the day here. We also hemmed a bunch of cut-off shorts for her son -- he really likes former-sweatpant shorts! And by this time of the school year most of his school sweats have developed holes in the knees.
An added benefit to the day -- my head feels really light and breezy! lol
My dh arrived home from Georgia in time for supper, so that was an added plus to my day.
It turned into a very LONG day when he asked for help on a bookkeeping conundrum that had developed in the trucking business...we were tracking back through the paperwork until after midnight! But we did manage to figure out the puzzle, so I'm sure at least one of us slept better. http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif
