Found a ton of fabric hiding in the back bedroom!
Question:
Nothing old and vintage...just the usual newer stuff I have. I was trying to get together some more Christmas lots. I did find Christmas yardage but it's pretty large pieces... maybe 3-5 yards. I guess it would be best to sell as one piece...although I did fairly well with the smaller remnants. I am tempted to cut it up. Answer: Doobee, if you can cut it up and make several lots like the last one, I'd say go for it. I'm working on a lot of satin scraps (think crazy quilts) but it's a mess. The stuff ravels like crazy and I can't keep the threads trimmed as fast as they pop out. Joan Answer: Doobee, I agree with Joan...if the buyers want to spend big bucks on lots made up of smaller pieces who are you to get in their way! Crafters may very well like getting the variety with one bid. Joan, I've never sold satin scraps but twice I've sold lots of velvet scraps and listed them as being for crazy quilts. I was pleased with the final prices both times. Answer: Hi Joan Can you serge cut the pieces? I dislike anything that ravels...I end up tossing it out. I also have a crate of velvet remnants I have been saving to make a patchwork velvet quilt...finding prints was hard. But I have lost all interest. I think I will save it to list for last. I have piles of fabric everywhere! I am getting tired and it's starting to bug me. Maybe I need to stop and put it in lots before I dig anymore out. Answer: What if you cut the Christmas fabric into 3 or 4 or ? identical lots? (You know, cut each piece into 3 same-size pieces) Then you'd only have to write one description and take one set of pictures for 3 or more auctions. You could spread out the listings over the year or at least wait until the previous closed auction is out of the system. Elaine Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
