buying books...need a AZ Associates link
Question:
I'm going to buy a few books today, probably through Amazon. Do any of you have links on your sites where you get a % of Amazon sales purchased through your link? Please either post that link here or email me off-list. Or if you have a favorite site that has a link, that would work also... Thanks. Elaine Answer: Tonight what I'm looking for isn't actually a textile book... In fact, it's going to be a substitution for a handcrafted textile gift that I can't seem to get started on. I'm looking for any Larry Kanfer books. Published by Univ. of Illinois press, they are coffee-table-type books. Photographs of Illinois farmland, etc. It's the only thing I can think of to take along to Thailand. Eventually though (like in April or earlier), I'd like to get (for myself) the 40s Blueprints of Fashion book and maybe the two Barbara Brackman books I don't have. I think there are some tablecloth books I should buy, and maybe a handkerchief book or a lace book. I think we made a list once of books we'd recommend. Nobody here has one of those Amazon links bookmarked? Maybe I should put one on my own website? lol Answer: Nobody here uses any links before they buy at Amazon???? Answer: Talking to yourself again dear? Sorry, can't help ya. I've ordered from Amazon many times, but never went through a link..does it help the site owner with the link, or do you get a discount? Answer: The site owner gets a percent of the sale. Answer: Thats neat, I'd never heard of that. Something to consider if I ever get my website finished. Well, If you do find a good link post it here please. I'll go through that way next time. Answer: Oops, hope this isn't too late. You might check out addall.com. They will compare different online bookstores for you. Answer: Jill, I'd be happy to buy directly from any heren who has the Kanfer books in gift-worthy condition, but if I'm going to buy from a 'group' site, I'd just as soon use Amazon. I just spent some time looking at the Amazon Associates program and I see that they are pretty strict about how you advertise your links (for instance, no press releases announcing them)...and that you can't buy through the Amazon link on your own website. Here's the overview: http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html...A36L942TSJ2AJA Here's the agreement: http://associates.amazon.com/gp/asso...49565-1553739? I notice that they use Alexa to track customers from your site. Isn't Alexa one of those spybots that we're trying to keep OFF our computers? Anyhow, if someone wants to PM me with more info on a link, that would be fine and then there wouldn't be any worry about posting the link publicly. I'm going to edit the title of this thread (Add Amazon Associates to it) to more closely match the actual topic. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
