Listing Contest! Textile-related stuff at OCM
Question:
Listing Contest! Textile-related stuff at OCM
Background:
A few folks here have been listing textile-related items at the OCM (here Community Marketplace), but some of us (me included) haven't listed anything fabric/sewing/textile/needlework related yet. And in general, there's not a lot of those types of items for sale yet at the OCM, in spite of the fact that we've got a pretty good group of people here at here with both the interest and the breadth of knowledge to do a bang-up job of listing good stuff!
Joan suggested this afternoon that if I came up with an idea for a contest, then she'd come up with the prize part! So I'll try...
Contest Rules
The basic contest will be for the largest number of textile-related auctions newly listed here at the OCM between now and midnight EDT April 30th.
Get points for your listing by posting both the title of the auction and a link to each auction in this thread.
The auction must be 'live' at the time you post it here for it to qualify.
I'll tally up the totals every day or so and post those new numbers here in the thread also. If there's a question about the eligibility of a particular entry, Joan and I will discuss it and make a decision together. In the case of rejected entries, I'll write to you by PM (Private Message here at here) and tell you about it and then remove that particular entry from the thread.
I'm planning to participate in this contest but will be ineligible prize-wise. I'm guessing Joan would rather not be in the running for prizes, but I'll leave that up to her! Since my forum co-host, Tanya (mapledr), doesn't even know about the contest yet, she'll be eligible for a prize this time. When the Cat's away, the mousies will play! Every other here member is eligible to participate.
Take a look at the OCM forum for a special promo that Jim is running this weekend with automatic upgrades for some auctions.
FREE "ZERO" UPGRADE WEEKEND! STARTS TODAY!

So do I need to enter each auction in a separate reply for now on? And do textile books and other related items count, generally speaking?
EDITED: To include the full title of each auction.

One request--I'd appreciate it if you'd cut and paste the exact auction name when you make the link. (Or if it's easier, you can just put the exact auction name on one line and the link on the next line.)
Otherwise, that's exactly what I meant for posting your entries.
For your future listings:
You can just group a bunch in one post like you just did...
OR
Post each one as you list.
Doesn't matter to me. Whatever works for you to get the info into this thread!
Yes! Textile books and other related items count. Generally speaking!

Bumping this up just in case someone missed it.

Answer:
Would craft PATTERNS be textile-related?

I think that would depend on the type of pattern and what it's about.
I took a look again at our Textile Forum's charter and it says Discussion and exchange of information about any textile related issues including, but not limited to: fabric, linens, clothing, textile trends, auction and retail related topics, instructional assistance, sewing, and other crafts. which seems to include at least textile-related crafts. (highlighting added by me)
Do you have specific examples?
I'm thinking a Dewberry booklet on painting a birdhouse would not qualify for this particular contest. In contrast, a pattern showing how to decoupage squares of fabric on a wooden birdhouse would qualify.
For this contest any craft that includes some sort of textile or textile process like weaving would qualify. If you think something is borderline, go ahead and list it here. If I wonder about it I'll write to you first and you can tell me why you think it qualifies. I really don't want to turn into the 'textile police' on this one!
So....
Don't worry,
Just list!

(is this any help?)
