Christmas 2005 trends / colors?
Question:
What is different about the Christmas decor and colors this year?
You know, some years there's a trend to bright 'Christmas' reds and greens, some years the colors are more muted, other years they are burgundy and forest green, sometimes with a lot of gold (or silver or holographics).
I guess I'm mainly thinking of fabric trends, but any other info about Christmas color trends would be helpful also. Or particular items like craft items or new ways to use traditional items.
What's new in the stores? What do you particularly like right now?
What vintage decor items are making a comeback?
Any ideas? Hints? Conjectures?

Answer:
I haven't seen or heard of what it will be this year.
I still like the traditional red and green for Christmas but I do have some very nice dusty rose Santas and other decorations that are really beautiful.
Not too early to be thinking Christmas if you are in a crafty mood.
Answer:
I took a look at the new Christmas fabrics in the Hancock's of Paducah Summer 2005 catalog last night and came to the conclusion that the newest Christmas fabrics are all-over-the-board.
There are the 'classic/elegant' dark with gold Hoffman prints, the retro 'last minute shopping' 40s/50s prints, some prints that look like an old Frosty the Snowman Little Golden Book (the classic one, not the newer illustrations), Thimbleberries 'natural' look (but Moda), bright primary colors prints that are only Christmas because of the subject matter, some dog and cat prints that are Christmas because of the collars. I don't see an over-arching popularity them there...but maybe if I looked at the website and compared what's available there (not much right now, compared to the catalog) I could figure out which ones are already sold out. But the question is, will they be reordered? lol
