"Quilting Cats" quilt fabric
Question:
These Michael Miller kitties look like the original Miss Kitty's sisters... link to (Hancocks of Paducah) kitty quilt fabric http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/imag...art/MC1280.jpg Answer: Whoops! Sorry about the HUGE picture up there... http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif Answer: What a Great Print! My mom would love a pillow made of that. Thanks for posting it. I do order from Hancock's whenever I can. I need to get my batting for my next quilt. Hope they still offer free shipping on online orders. I'm just ordered some Quilter's Dream cotton and will be trying it soon. In the past I've used Hobbs Heirloom. Elaine Answer: I've used both, but really like quilter's dream. I'm trying to decide what kind of batt to use on my large pine tree quilt. It came out to be a king size! So will be quite a project to hand-quilt. My friend says maybe I should use the big-stitch method. Would make a nice comforter, but then I would have to tack it, as it would be too large to wrestle under the machine. I would like to try the wool batt too, as I hear it is wonderful to work with. Grace Grace's eBay Treasures Gallery 20% Off Sale through May 15 at Quail Hill - mention you saw it here..... Quail Hill Treasures Answer: Which Quilters Dream did you use? I'm hoping the really thin one will be easier to needle (by hand), but I do like the feel of a slightly thicker cotton batting. I have samples (crib/craft size) that I can test for hand and machine quilting. It's also important to me that the battings I use for myself/personally wash easily, so I'll have to test that also. I'm also going to test the thinnest one as batting for parts of quilted garments. The real question is whether I'll change the batting I include in my beginner quilt kits.... Elaine Answer: The thinner one does needle a bit easier, but if you can test a sample first, that will tell you which one you prefer. I do like a little more loft, but I like it to be easy to hand-quilt too. Let me know how your machine quilting and those by hand turn out and what you think about them.
