Help with dating some flannel fabrics
Question:
I'm getting ready to list some flannel fabric I thought was from the 1970's but I just read another thread below about width and date saying the 36" & 37" width are not 70's. Any idea for a date on these? The red polka dot is 36" inches wide and the blue mini rosebud is 37" inches. The third rose/floral one is 46" inches wide. http://members.sparedollar.com/rebrey/100_2224.JPG http://members.sparedollar.com/rebrey/100_2226.JPG http://members.sparedollar.com/rebrey/100_2228.JPG http://members.sparedollar.com/rebrey/100_2229.JPG http://members.sparedollar.com/rebrey/100_2232.JPG Answer: Rebrey, I would use something like Vintage 36" W Green Polka Dot Fabric for the title and not worry too much about nailing down an exact date. In another thread somewhere around here Tanya mentioned that Japanese buyers love polka dot fabric so be sure to put that in your title. Joan Answer: Rebrey, I agree with Joan. Don't get too hung up on dating the fabrics. They are most likely late 60's but that isn't their strong selling point. Definitely mention "polka dots" in your title! And mention "tiny rosebud" in the second and "purple roses" in the third. Answer: Flannels are great...there's always a market for them, whether they're antique cotton or new acrylics... ....AND.... The season to sell them is fast approaching! Cheers Answer: Thanks for the help! Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
