Feedsack Question
Question:
Hi everyone -- I finally found a REAL feedsack! The size is right, the stitching holes are right and, thanks to the samples Tina sent me, I can see the weave and texture is right!
Two questions: I have two of these in the same print. Do you think they will sell well ($10+) on their own or should I list both together? Also, what is this flower called? I haven't been able to find a similar print to get an idea of price, etc. but I might be using the wrong key words.
Thanks for any help. I'll be listing another group of vintage fabrics tomorrow and this will be my first "feedsack".
Answer:
Dawna, I believe those would be hibiscus. The flowers are kind of big for quilters who seem to buy a lot of the feedsacks. So to increase their attractiveness to bidders I would probably list them together if they were mine. Matching feedsacks usually seem to do pretty well.
Answer:
Thanks Tanya! You know, hibiscus was actually my first guess but hibiscus + feedsack only pulled up one auction and the flowers were totally different. I think I'll add it to the description but use "yellow flowers" in the title. Do they look "tropical" to you? Maybe I'll use that too.
I've been typing fabric descriptions all day ... there are only so many ways to describe pink blue and white flowers before you're sick of it!
