It's Time For November's Terrific Textile Thread!
Question:
It's time for Terrific Textile Tuesday! This is the weekly opportunity for all members of here's Textiles/Sewing & Fiber Arts Forum to share some good news with friends. Did you have a recent auction exceed your wildest dreams? Do you have a wonderful item currently up for auction? Did you make a great thrift store find? Did you snipe a real bargain on ebay? Don't be shy! This is your chance to boast, crow, flaunt or just plan brag about a recent textile success. Answer: My last batch of auctions were all non-textile related but I was pretty happy with the results. Especially this Stuckey's Mug. Now I have mostly fabrics listed so hopefully I'll have another happy result to post next week. What's everyone else up to? Answer: Wow! That cup was great! Did you find that a one of the antique stores you went to this fall? I really enjoyed looking through the fabrics you have up right now. You've got quite a few bids already! I've sold a couple more quilt kits through my web site and also thru ebay. I didn't get any bids at all on the stuff I put up for the ClubSYI99 promo last week (goodworks4fabric), but rather than be discouraged, I think I'll just keep them there and relist them next month for the promo. I'm going to try to put more textile related stuff up at SYI. Right now the category is mostly sewn products like pot holders and pillows and I'd like to help change that. I know that several of you are also listing there, at least parttime. I do have my scrubbies at SYI at the cheapest price anywhere (lower than the web site or when I list them on ebay), but so far I haven't sold many. Well, I'm off to meet my mother-in-law to do some more cleaning at the house in town... (mapledr, I'm glad to see you got your security settings fixed and your computer running again! I printed out that list and fixed mine today also!) goodworks1 at ebay Get your gift SCRUBBIES and Learn-to-Quilt Kits here! Answer: Well now I did it!! Went and bid on some of your fabric. http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif (in case I win, I will be out of town until Monday, the 10th) Great sale on the Stuckey's mug....I will certainly be on the look-out for one of those. I have a couple of Kettle Retaurant mugs. Wonder if they would bring some interest? I have been doing okay on the vintage feedsacks and old vintage aprons and a doll quilt, but nothing big. I will be listing more when we get back from our trip. I have not had any luck on SYI. I try every once in a while, when I can find time. I wish there were more bidders there. It is hard to find time to list when so few look at your auctions. Maybe when things pick up there, I will try again. She loved the big one I made for her so much, I thought she needed one for her babies. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gifEverything is either feedsack or old cotton from aprons, except for the green. http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/...mallQuilt1.jpg http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/...mallQuilt2.jpg _________________ #2172 Answer: Tina69, what a cute little quilt! I bet your niece will love it! http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif This past Sunday my first batch of fabric auctions in 6 months ended. All but one sold which was good. The biggest surprise was this polka-dot fabric. I haven't heard from the winning bidder so I hope they're not having second thoughts! qltldy, thanks for your bid. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif The fabric ended up going to Japan. One of my all time favorite Japanese bidders won a couple so I was happy to see her back after my hiatus. "It's all memorabilia, but it's incidental, not integral, if you know what I mean." Answer: I got some good fabric deals this morning on Ebay..pretty, pretty fabric with labels still attached, only a few bucks per auction..2 or 3 pieces per auction. Appear to be from the 30's. Won a nice big piece of cheater cloth for a few bucks too. Now Im waiting to see if I win her quilt blocks auction..I'll post pics of everything when it arrives. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif _________________ #2172 Answer: What a sweet doll quilt, Tina. Sorry I lost on the fabric, but really did not need more http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif As a matter of fact, I will be listing fabric soon....really! I have just been too busy with travelling and getting ready for family coming week-end before Thanksgiving. We are going down to pick up Mom next Thursday, so don't have time right now. I did manage a few re-lists to add to my Club99s. I did manage to do a little shopping while on trip. I hit one estate sale and thrift stores in town where we were camped. We went to a Tractor and Truck museum there, and would you know, they were also having a quilt show! Quite a few interesting old quilts....and sure wasn't expecting it. I enjoyed the tractors and trucks too! Well....off to bed for me....yard sales tomorrow http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif Grace Grace's eBay Treasures SALE!Quail Hill Treasures Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
