Carpet cleaners Degreasers question
Question:
Went outside this a.m. to chase Doobee inside the house, he was barking at the squirrels and I didn't want to wake the neighbors. I stepped in some Doobeedoo...(Thank you Doobee)...just a bit but tracked it through the house.
So I had to shampoo the carpets and runners today.
Since I was doing it, I thought I'd use the new degreaser I bought.
Sprayed it on the spots and it worked great.
It was kinda cool today and the carpets didn't dry enough.
So I flipped it over where it was still wet. On the back side is a bunch of
really ugly spots...in the area where I sprayed the degreaser.
I mean it looks like I took engine oil and made big spots!
I wonder when they dry if it's going to be gone or if it's going to work it's
way up to the top of the fibers?
It's an old area carpet. Once it drys I will probably just flip it over and not worry about it... as long as it looks decent on the front.
It's just weird that it looks that way.
Answer:
Too late in the year (probably. I don't know where you live exactly), but we had to take a rug out to the driveway last spring and power wash it, as cleaning stains had stained the BACK of the carpet. Top looked fine, but the back looked nasty. (I wouldn't suggest that method on a fine silk or wool rug, though.)
If you can prop the rug up so air can get underneath to dry it out, or stack a bunch of (clean) towels (paper or cloth) underneath to absorb not only the excess cleaning fluid, but also any moisture. You DON'T want to get mold under there - which then can damage the floor.
....the things we do for our pets....!
Answer:
I stepped in some Doobeedoo... I don't have any advice, but I had to chuckle just a little. I got a Furby when they first came out, and one of the things it said was "Doobee Doobee Doooooo!"
Now I know what it was referring to!
(Just teasing, but it really did say that!)
I "need" another Furby. I had a blast with that thing!
Answer:
My thinking is that if they are still wet and ugly on the bottom, eventually that will wick up into the pile.
However, if it does "stay" clean, perhaps we could all refer to the "degreaser" as a "dedoobeedoo".
Cheers
Answer:
"dedoobeedoo".
Someone told me Doobee is another word for marijuana. That's not
how Doobee got his name...ijust in case anyone was wondering if I was
a pot head.
Moonrise there are a lot of places that have Furby on sale. Somewhere, I don't go to many places, so it had to be KMart, had them for $10.00!
I got my commercial dog dryer out of the back closet.
(from the days long gone that I thought I wanted to be a dog groomer )
Turned it on the wet spots (its' not the whole carpet area, heck I wasn't going to move ALL that ebay stuff to get a part that didn't need it)
It's almost dry. And a good thing too, looks like we are going to get rain.
Anyway, the greasy looking spots are still there.
Usually my carpet shampooer works well. But it didn't want to pick up the water on the return path. I found a small filter screen underneath that had
a little lint on it. Cleaned it and it worked better.
I like the power wash idea. I may have to try that on a hot day.
