It's Time for June's Terrific Textile Thread!
Question:
This is the opportunity for all members of here's Textiles/Sewing & Fiber Arts Forum to share some good news with friends.
Did you have a recent auction exceed your wildest dreams? Do you have a wonderful item currently up for auction? Did you make a great thrift store find? Did you snipe a real bargain on ebay?
Don't be shy! This is your chance to boast, crow, flaunt or just plan brag about a recent textile success.

Answer:
I have a batch of fabric auctions up right now so maybe when they end I'll have something to shout about. http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif
Last week at our local flea I picked up a few pieces of fabric for $1.00 each. This nautical print is probably the nicest of the bunch. No bids yet but a few people have it on their watch lists. It is a really nice fabric. It has such a great crisp feel like new fabrics don't seem to have.
And if you haven't read it yet, make sure you see Dawna's post in the "May" thread about her recent x-stitch successes.

Answer:
Tanya,
Who's the artist of that Roth Greeting Card fabric?
Can you read the name under the drawing?
Looks to me as though you have a lot of nice fabrics up. I'll go back tomorrow when I'm awake and look more closely. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif

I stumbled into a good yarn sale this week.
A lot of Bernat CottonTots (41 sks) and about 19 Lion Brand HomeSpun plus a few Homespun Baby
sks.
DH and I got them sprted and bagged today and I'll start getting them up next week.
If any you need any in these lines, let me know and I'll look and see if I have what you need and will make you a better deal than an auction price.

arkay, please let us know how your yarn auctions do. I've never come across any good yarn buys but am interested just in case I ever do! http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif
Elaine, I think the printing under the characters on the Roth fabric may be the names of the characters but I can't make it out. Obviously it was meant to be a poor imitation of Holly Hobbie.
My fabric auctions ended tonight and overall I was happy with the results. I only had two out of 20 that did not sell. I was most surprised by the results of this small print. I bought a 4 yard piece of this off of ebay for $4.00. I split it into two 2-yard pieces which sold for $14.65 and $29.00! So I'm happy with that! And I didn't even have to go out hunting for the fabric. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif

I found a few nice things this weekend. An old quilt top with some great old fabric in it. I'll have to post some of the pics later. I found 2 huge old quilting hoops..yeay!, lots of cross stitch books, a huge bolt of old 34" blue/white stripe ticking, a nice size piece of 36" 30's fabric, a few yards of a gray fabric that feels like mens dress pants-dont think its flannel, a really nice case with tons of embroidery floss & a nice color chart...
And the great part is..I paid $3 for everything. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif http://www.here.com/B/emoticons/party.gif

Mapledr- They yarn is up on my auctions now. I may not have much luck with it right now--so few people are thinking crafts in the summer. I'll move what doesn't sell in a week to my eBay store and let it set there. I have some "watchers" on the Homespun Baby and a couple of the cottontots. I'm hoping that it's just a weekend thing and that I get more lookers and some bids.
I may take the Homespun Waterfall off though. It's such a gorgeous thread that I might just have to find something to make with it. I've use it ince and it makes up beautifully!

arkay,
Do you have a link to one of those auctions? I think I need to set up a better system here on my computer so I can view each of your auctions regularly! What do you do to remember these links? I'm sure someone here has some good ideas.

Answer:
Elaine-
I've put all of the textile posters in my favorite sellers link becaue I LOVE to look at the fabrics y'all list!
Here's a link to my eBay store.
I used to have it in my sig but I got "netcopped" and took it out. I don't mind posting it here. We're all VERY supportive of each other "down here"!
I've got lots of watchers on the yarn--and now even one bid! And that lot has 5 watchers. Maybe it will go higher!

arkay, Wow, you really found some beautiful yarn. Good luck with those!
Tina, I dub you <span class="ev_code_PURPLE">Queen of the Excellent Finds!</span>
Elaine, I don't keep much of anything straight http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif...just tend to click on links when they're posted. I added my auctions to my sig line "down" here but don't use it when I post above.
