I posted a reply that the needlework is most likely petit point. An ebay search for "petit point vanity" and "petit point dresser" shows a few sets. I think one finished at $65.00. I'm not sure of the age...I would tend to think 1900-1920 but that's just a guess.

I don't believe there is a difference, is there? I've usually used the term only for the tiny needlepoint stitches, and not so much for tiny cross-stitches... but I think it applies to both.
