As a husband of the original Packratess, I have to ask just how many bags of these ever so valuable quilts you have stashed all over the house.
Plus why were these quilts in a garbage bag in the closet if they were of great sentimental, or other type value.
When you answer these questions, I'll give you my opinion on whether they were accidentally on purpose thrown out.

My husband never throws anything away, even if it is trash. I take the trash out. He knows he'd be in big trouble if something like that happened. Accident or not.
