PANTONE Fashion Color Report Spring 07
Question:
The Spring 2007 runways will radiate with surprising neutrals and innovative splashes of corals, yellows and purples, reports Pantone, Inc., the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries.
Each season, Pantone surveys the designers showing at New York Fashion Week to collect feedback on prominent collection colors, color inspiration, color philosophy and each designer's signature shade. This information is used to create the PANTONE Fashion Color Report and serves as a reference tool throughout the year for fashion enthusiasts, reporters and retailers.

Now you know what colors to dye your hand-crafted silk scarves to go with the new fashions. And what colors will probably show up in the quilt stores or at least in the Home Dec catalogs the next couple of years.
And what to CALL those colors when you are marketing to those fashion forward folks on ebay... And how to get them to look right as background colors for your ebay auctions.
On the other hand, I'm not sure how to know what year most of my clothing is. Most secondhand shops don't generally label 'em that way... No doubt some are from 2002... The other non-thrift-shop things are 'whatever year I got the stash yardage made into something I could actually wear'
Thanks for posting that Joan!
I'm finding that I don't even recognize most of the designer's names these days...

WoooHooo!!! the cafe creme wall tiles and fixtures in my bathroom are coming back into style! And perhaps I'll finally be able to find a shower curtain that will look decent!!
Anyway, thank you for the information. Now I will know to personally stay far away from blues and grapes and to stick with the golden apricot, green sheen, and holly hock... not all at the same time!

I'm finding that I don't even recognize most of the designer's names these days... I watched just enough of Project Runway to recognize Zak Posen's name; he was one of the guest judges.
Now you know what colors to dye your hand-crafted silk scarves That's a joke, right? I've never dyed anything and the only silk scarf I ever made surely wasn't worth the effort. I seem to remember the colors being out of style by the time I finished hand rolling the hems.
Where's the black and white? I'm happy to report that it's still there. Most of my dressier clothes are black and white. The colors stay in style and it's easy to change the look of the garment with accessories.
WoooHooo!!! the cafe creme wall tiles and fixtures in my bathroom are coming back into style! And perhaps I'll finally be able to find a shower curtain that will look decent!! I don't think my 60s avocado green bathroom will ever be back in style so I'll just keep the door closed and use 15 watt bulbs in the guest bathroom. My next project is going to be the dining room. My new Pantone color guide will go with me to the paint store to help find my wall colors. That's about as fashion forward as I can get.

The avocado green fixtures (sink, tub, toilet) in the upstairs bathroom in this house actually look relatively okay with towels that are greyish sage or rusty red or sort of a sandy gray. It's the wallpaper with the forest green !! that I can't stand - it only makes the avocado fixtures look worse.
Just be thankful that you don't have to deal with an avocado green shaggy wool carpet in 3 main rooms plus a hall and open staircase. Nope, I don't get to decide whether or not to keep it and so far I'm still alive after living with it for 10 full years....
The only good thing I can say about the whole thing (besides the rental rate) is...I don't own this particular house so I don't take any of the blame...
And actually it's a very high quality carpet that really truly is showing no wear after more than 40 years of use.
