I am listing some Dritz 1/2 ball button covers. It says on the package that they are brass. But they look silver color. It doesn't say they are plated.
Can brass look silver?

I'm guessing it's like safety pins. They come in steel and brass. But either of those base metals can be silver colored or gold colored.
Sometimes you want brass for some reason -- 'cause it doesn't rust, for one thing. Sometimes you might want steel, maybe because it's a little stronger....
