alexander henry playtime
Question:
I have pieces of alexander henry Playtime 1995 Fabric. I'm looking for marketing advice. Most are strips. some are 6 x 60 inches along the salvadge. I also have a running 5.5 inches x 54 yards along the salvadge. That piece is from the left side which has the name printed on it.
It's at least the equivlant of 16 yards
I also have pieces of "Noah's Friends" 1995 , but much less of it.
How would you advise marketing it. Should I group it in "yard" equivlants ,do a running yardage as a dutch auction , sell the large spool as one piece?
I'm attaching a bad picture of Playtime. Don't worry, if I list it I'll get the wrinkles out.
Thanks if advance for any help

Hi Cheryl,
I know Alexander Henry fabric has a lot of fanatical followers. At least in the past. And even more for their discontinued/retired prints. But of course I don't know about 'strips'
Do you have a sense of how popular these prints might be? Are there people asking for it at missingfabrics.com for instance?

This one doesn't have a bid yet, but has 3 days to go...
I think marketing it depends on how quickly you want to get rid of it. (Or the price you need)
What's the repeat on the fabric? Are there 3 or more repeats on the 60" strips?
I guess you could sell sets of strips for sashing for a child's quilt or a Chinese Coins quilt. Or cut some of it up for nickel squares or 6" squares. (I haven't looked at ebay to see how these things are selling right now.
Is it all wrinkly like the photo? (So that you'd have to do a lot of work to ready it for selling for the ideas above?) I'm assuming the roll is not.

Thanks for the info. I've been having fun wandering around missingfabrics I didn't find my fabric but I think I found another.
The pattern repeats every 12 inches
Is sashing a boarder?
The big roll is not too wrinkled.
I just need enough to make it worth my time. No money invested in it. A friend used to dumpster dive around all the factories. She made scruncies & sold them by the thousands.
