Aren't these a hoot?!
Question:
Thought y'all might enjoy these and I need advice on them? From 1962 http://www.cox-internet.com/dkpt/bandd.JPG From 1982 http://www.cox-internet.com/dkpt/bothfelix.JPG From 1982: http://www.cox-internet.com/dkpt/popfam.JPG Now for the advice-- sell as 3 auctions (Blondie and Dag, Felix Family, Popeye family) or as 7 separate auctions? And where would you start them? I can't find anything like them so I'm in a quandary. They're all mail-order patterns from the classifieds. TIA! ~~arkay dkpt at eBay Answer: Arkay, What are the patterns for? Are they dolls or wallhangings or applique or ???? I'm lost here. Why are they such a wide range of dates? 1962, 1982 in spite of looking very similar... Elaine (who should be in bed rather than trying to get the reply button to work...! ) Answer: I'm sorry. I knew what they were for and was not thinking! They are patterns for dolls. And I don't know why the wide range of dates. I have a whole sack (well about 20 more) of these patterns that this lady bought out of the classifieds in the paper. That's where some of the old apron patterns came from. I have search and search on eBay and can't find anything like them so I'm not sure what category to go under--sewing patterns or cartoons or doll patterns. The only way I even know the dates is because of the postmark on the envelopes. ~~arkay Answer: Arkay, I found a couple auctions of photocopies of the original patterns: Blondie Pattern Felix Pattern Neither one of these sold. Blondie was listed under Dolls and Felix under Toys. I think you would be better off listing these under a cartoon category like Collectables>Comics. Or the Popeye ones could be listed under Toys & Hobbies>TV, Movie Character Toys>Popeye. I have a feeling they would appeal to collectors of those particular characters who like to have everything with their favorite character on them. I would probably list them in little lots, like all the Popeye characters together. It's just hard to say how much interest there will be in them but I think they look awfully neat! http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif Answer: Thanks! I'm going to list the origianl pattern so maybe that will make a difference, maybe not. I think I will go with your suggestions for the Popeye and the other as collectables>cartoons. Can't hurt to try!! ~~arkay Answer: I agree with Mapledr - separate is the way to go - with a mention in the description that you have the others listed. good luck!!
