Can anyone help me Identify this?
Question:
I believe it to be 80- 100 years old. Made by "Style Metal Spec. NY. Any ideas what this would be called? http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/42...19necklace.jpg http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/42...9necklace2.jpg http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/42...9necklace6.jpg http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/42...9necklace7.jpg I appreciate any help.... thanks bill Answer: WoW!!! I've never seen anything like that one. I will see what I can find for you. Answer: thanks! this may be a nice one. The only metal that attracts itself to a magnet is the pin that the neckline catch has. The 2 small "purses" have a hole in the bottom of each. They are hollow. Each link is gold soldered together. Answer: http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/4...719necklace1.jpg http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/4...719necklace3.jpg http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/4...719necklace4.jpg http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/4...719necklace5.jpg it has a Fleur De Lis....Edwardian? Answer: I think it's a chatelaine. (clasp or chain worn at the waist for holding keys, a purse, or a watch) I've seen sewing chatelaines, with scissors, pincushion, needle case etc. Maybe on yours, the big chain goes around the waist & not the neck. Answer: The style is Art Deco. All I have found on the company is c. 1930-1940's and they were known for their unusual designs. I'm still looking. Answer: I looked at that but could not make it where the mans head was right. It was always upside down. I thought a watch hook...or maybe even a shoulder decoration. That did not make sense either. Answer: oh....and the Fleur De Lis Must be right side up. Right? Answer: chatelaine.. i do see what you are saying. I see no use for these 2 little Dangles...they do not open. Answer: Sorry Bill...dunno... I see what your saying about the head being upside down..hmmmm.. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
