Anyone know what this brooch is made of, please ?
Both metal and amber part.
It is carved intaglio on the back.

Is there any markings or initials on it?
Is it glass? You can check if it's glass by lightly biting it. I know this sounds stupid but like pearls if you kinda bit on it you can tell.

There are no marks at all on it.
I bit it ...but not used to biting glass so not sure but I think it could be !!!
Does that mean it's not worth anything much ?
The metal at the back is textured ...and quite hard. I've scraped it and I think a white metal is showing thru ...so that's not a good sign either is it ?

Sorry I had not got back to you. The mount is costume, as in a flash plate on a base metal. Sone is glass. Intereting piece to some folks.
