The good, bad or even the ugly on May Trucking Co, Salem OR.
Question:
Can't find anything in search mode, anyone have any info? Going to give OTR another try... Thanks Answer: I have a friend that used to work for them quite some time back. He told me a little story that made me say I wouldn't work for them. He said May, at that time, required him to get a P.O. Number for permission to idle the truck for heat or a/c. Now if anyone thinks I'm gonna freeze to death or roast like a lamb chop, they are in for a rude awakening. He also told me some other horror stories that I can't recall. My best advice would be to ask LOTS of questions and be sure they answer them without spinning the answers. Hey, it's your livelyhood and you're the one that live with your decision. Living up where you do, you may want to check in the Jerome, ID area. There is a company I can't think of, but they seem to have fairly happy drivers. I'll do a google search and see if I can find them, then I'll update my post. Good Luck Answer: You might want to check to see if Jim Palmer, hires in your area. Answer: the hill and up to Missoula Mt. Jim Palmer,Watkins/Shepard and two or three others operate out of there. Don't hear much positive about May over in this part of the world. Check the web yellow pages for Missoula. I think there's one in Lolo also...BOL Character: Doin the right thing when nobody's lookin..JC Watts Answer: I'll do some checking! Thanks again! Answer: In Missoula we have; Jim Palmer-refer-good reports no personal knowledge Davis-flatbed-poor company-personal knowledge Watkins Sheppard-flatbed/van ,50/50, some good some bad-personal knowledge Jones Brothers-flatbed-unknown Sammons-flatbed-rumors only 2nd hand-bad RSB-van-just took over Bitterroot after bankruptcy, office has not got it together Cliff Reed-Flatbed-unknown SACS-chiphauler-management is a joke, run away from them-personal knowledge ******************************************* out of business, sold at auction, bankruptcy Sea-nic Bitterroot International Tripp Brothers hope that this helps out Dave Wadsworth wombat If a cluttered desk indicates a cluttered mind, what does an empty desk indicate? Answer: I keep forgetting about Bitterroot(click here)...I didn't know they filed bankruptcy. Answer: I didn't realize that there were that many companies based this far north. I was looking at May because they seem to do a lot of business w/Potlatch and I could get by the house fairly often. And Lolo, MT...love getting there because I could always stop at that horseback trailhead place w/the restaurant (always someplace to park a rig) and it also meant the interstate was only an hour away! Drive safe! Answer: Bitterroot went into receivership in Jan or Feb of 2003 and the company assets were sold to RSB out of Saskatoon SK. First thing RSB did was to fire ALL Bitterroot people office and drivers, everyone. Now they are trying to hire people but it takes 5 weeks to ok a driver hire. What a joke. Dave Wadsworth wombat If a cluttered desk indicates a cluttered mind, what does an empty desk indicate? Answer: Your welcome. That place, Lolo Hot Springs, is just a few minutes from the house. Hwy 12 in both Idaho and Montana is a GREAT motorcycle road. Dave Wadsworth wombat If a cluttered desk indicates a cluttered mind, what does an empty desk indicate? Answer: I remember calling these guys (click here), when I first started trucking in the early 90's. They are out of Coeur d' Alene. I did not live in a good area so they said no. The web site does say you need 2 years experienc with 6 months flatbed, or one year experience---all being flatbed. I'll let you in on a little secret though---if you call them and tell them you have no experience on flats but would "really love to drive for Yellowstone", they will find a way to accomidate you. Companies need drivers; and if you have a decent MVR, and work history---most companies are willing to work with a perspective employee to fit each others needs. _________________________ Cover Your Cans People!!!It's apparent this place is never going to change....then again; why should it? It gets the clientel it deserves. Bette Midler Answer: Since AHI(TMC,KTL) bought out Yellowstone a while back,I would guess their hiring requirements would be similair. CD If you think education is hard......try ignorance recovering dweller..........oilfield trash division Answer: out of Tacoma, WA. Tried Jim Palmer and Watkins-Shepard out of Missoula and they both wanted 2 years experience minimum. They were nice about it though. I can reapply in August. Thx for the advice everyone! PP Answer: I thought Watkins Shepard was a training company. They had their own school in Missoula. Are you sure? -J Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
