3 rights or 3 lefts
Question:
Err on the side of caution
Before taking three rights or lefts, be very wary of your area of operation. Be sure that the route you are going to take is acceptable and legal for your rig. This is good advice to approach at a different angle, but be positive before you make a hasty decision.
More good advice for making tight right turns...PRACTICE...if you continually take the easy way out, when time comes that that tight right turn is the only route you have then the practice will pay off the practice will give you the confidence you need to accomplish your task. One good way to practice is on right turns that give you all the room in the world, imagine that the turn is tighter than it is, I have found that if you put these small restrictions on yourself it will help you to hone your driving skills. Don't wait for the situation to come to you create it yourself.

Stand up for what you believe in, even if it means standing alone

Answer:
DevilDog,
That's the best advice I've read so far. You said it better than I could explain it.
Some have mentioned bypassing tight turns and find a place to turn the rig around to avoid a tight turn.
I don't agree with that at all, too many drivers have found themselves in very serious trouble doing this in unfamilar areas.
As you said, practice tight turns, even if there not tight. I don't swing too wide, even if I have all the room in the world. I still practice tight turns. It keeps me in shape.
As I said, after a while, you just know where your wheels are without having to physically look at them. You can see where those wheels are in your mind. This gives you the advantage of concentrating on other things, like pedestrians, cars, cyclist, objects, etc.
You'll find, even the most senior drivers continue to practice driving skills constantly. It keeps you focused.
There are times, your not going to have the time to see where your wheels are. You must learn to know in your mind exactly where they are.
In an emergency maneuvering situation on the highway at highway speeds, it can mean the difference between running over a car or not running over a car with the trailer tandems. Things happen so fast, you don't have the luxury of time on your side.
You have to make accurate decisions the "first time" fast. By the time it takes to look in the mirror trying to find where your tandems are, it's all over. In some cases, you have less than one second to react.
