CRST Training Starts Mon. the 5th
Question:
I,like all the others before me, am attempting to make a thread Documenting My Training/Career with CRST. This will hopefully futher any truths & dispell any lies. First thing($$$$) Save for ur first couple months of training. Get yourself as debt free as possible, along with saving a couple of months worth of expences. Plus Budget yourself for will be your low miles per month, this way if you make more you can put that towards some type of savings. Plus if you are like me your current wardrobe is not the same as that of the OTR driver. Go to Wal-Mart, Target, or a Cost-Co, you'll get good deals on good clothing & accesorries needed. Also if your Family or Friends wants to get you somethings or help out? Dont kick a gift horse in the mouth!!! Second Thing (Focus) Make sure this is what You want to do not HAVE to do. Long stints away from home,Long stints without the everyday things in life (Beer after work, favorite TV show or Sporting Events) Third Thing (Research) Get as much advice as you can about everything. From School,Training Program,Company, and the job itself. Make sure research you get is based on what you want out of this career. (Don't get research on teams when you want to be solo) This is just what I've went through the past couple of months. My Goals out of this are to stay with CRST at least a year so my training is free. Get as much experience as I can, starting half way through winter should be valuable. See as much of the B-E-A-utiful US of A possible. And to meet as many of you as possible. K-Dizzle Answer: i cant wait to read it.. i went to crst 10 yrs ago this may........wondering how things have changed. my biggest complaint was the co drivers...you always got some one differnt...regardless if you tried to hook back up with your old co driver after home time... if i remember right i think i was in all 48 states in about a month....good luck...you sye could go to worse places....
