Bob Tail Experence
Question:
I know when most say bobtail the meaning is to drive a tractor without a trailer. I ran across an ad for employment that states, "Two yrs bob tail experience." The employer is NAPA, the auto parts house. My question is what exactly does NAPA mean when they use "bob tail" in this context? Is it a straight truck? Answer: My question is what exactly does NAPA mean when they use "bob tail" in this context? Is it a straight truck? Yes, in some parts of the country, straight trucks are referred to as bobtails. I never knew this until I lived in Arizona. Here in PA they are called straight trucks. Strange, huh? Answer: Straight truck, no fifth wheel. Answer: I was born and raised in Az. Drove a bobtail lumber truck for a few years and then drove a faltbed with rollers. It wasn't until recently, the last few years, that I started calling bobtails straight trucks. Any type of truck over 1 ton was a bobtail to me. So I would say their looking for straight truck or possibly box truck experience, might even be a strait flat bed truck. Any way it is a larger truck with no trailer that can carry an assortment of stuff. 'Carpe Diem' does not mean 'fish of the day'. "If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles." Answer: On a related note, what is a "prime mover?" If it is what I think it is, why do you cannucks call it that? Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
