Question:
Hey, in a thread a week or two ago you told me to look into working on the docks for one of the below mentioned companies--any idea how to contact them to see about getting on at their docks here in Dallas? Tried emailing you but it keeps getting sent back saying no user found.
Thanks!
"Runninhorn, you say you live in Dallas, so you might try Roadway/Yellow and Saia before you go to a school or training scam, if you aren't lazy. You start on the docks there at $17-$18 an hour, and they will move you up the board to CDL and driving jobs if you are half way worth a damn. They don't charge for training."

Answer:
if anyone knows the best way to get onto the docks at one of these companies, please let me know.....thanks

Answer:
I can't find a roadway humber, I don't have a Dallas phonebook.
For Saia Dallas I have 972 263 7242, it's a sales office number but I'm sure they have a switch board or something.
For Yellow I have
a linehaul dept. number 1 800 442 7746 Don Boulware
but, you would probably apply at Texas Workforce Commission in Irving, tx. Trying to get hold of a linehaul manager at any of these outfits takes some creativity during working hours.
You live in Dallas and can't dig up an address for these places?
I got my job by making sure my crayons were sharp, going to the place, asking if they were hiring and filling out an app., and keeping my hands out of my pants during the interview. I don't know how the experts or anybody else gets jobs. I hear being able to remember your name when asked is also a big plus.
