Week #2 In Training Is Done!!!
Question:
Hey! My second week is done. Since these first two weeks were short due to the holidays they basically got combined into 1 training week. I still haven't got to drive on the road yet because company states that you have to have five days of load securement before you can drive on the road. The way they see it, if you can't secure down the coils you ain't driving. Well I satisfied that section of it. Starting on Monday the 29th I will get to drive when the truck is empty. The trainer said he will gradually move me into hauling loaded. We hauled alot of permit loads this last week. We haul mainly steel coils. The loads averaged anywhere from 50,000 to 55,000 pounds. We had to follow certain permitted routes to get the load there. I also got a real good understanding on how to due the logbook, call dispatch to set up next load and all of the required paperwork. My trainer is teaching me alot. I excited about getting back out there to learn some more. I'll keep ya posted.
