Answer:
They have alot of trucks running in my area. They may run well but they sure aint pretty and they look real old.I talk to a driver that works for Cypress who lives here in St Cloud and says they keep him plenty busy right now and he does get home a few nights a week I always look for his truck when I drive by.Now before SVDanny calls me a basher or somthing I have seen a couple trucks that were pretty fair I do have to admit.

Answer:
Depends what you are looking for. Do alot of research. Home often, so-so-equipement. And I mean SO-So........

Answer:
Cyrpress bought out a company that I worked for called PLOOF and believe me their trucks where slow and ratty looking but they did keep them in good running shape..
I would have never left there if they ran teams.
And if the Old Man had not died and his "SON" ran the company into the ground.
Something to think about just because it's not big and pretty don't mean you can't make money.

Answer:
My neighbor lasted about 4 mths with them. He was one of three out of about 12 that made it out of orientation. They tried to put him in an old freightshaker with a million two on the odometer. He said he couldn't do it so they put him in a Peterbilt they got when they bought out Cook Brothers. It was a little better. I took a look at it. The tractor had almost 10 different brands of tires on it. They tried to put recaps on the steers.
What I'm trying to tell you is the equipment is poor........If you can get past this they did keep him rolling and home most weekends. He actually left on good terms.

Answer:
Oh yea Danny will set you straight, yes sir.
Cypress
Ploof
A little old maybe but not much has changed.

Thanks to all. This is part of my research before I retire from the military. Would have retired this year, except for the current world situation. Again thanks to all and will continue with my research.

WP,
I am safety director now for Cypress. I have to be careful to not sound like I am recruiting, don't want to violate the rules.
One post said we tried to put recaps on the steers? I have to defend that. We would never dream of it.
I will be honest, the pros and cons. Feel free to e mail me.
Moderator, if this went beyond the rules feel free to delete it.
thanks

Answer:
I checked out there web site.
They don't even mention "pay", or "benefits" etc... anywhere on the site.
That to me tells me, they like to have you call them so they can size you up on the phone, and then give you a "pay scale" they feel you deserve.
They ain't got the balls to list a set pay scale on their web site like most companies do, so you can make a decision for yourself whether you want to contact them or not.
What's the home time policy?
What can a driver with 3 yrs. experience get paid?
Do you offer Health Insurance?
Do you offer Dental Insurance?
Do you offer 401K?
Etc...Etc...Etc...
Your web site sucks Cypress!!!
What are you hiding Cypress?
Did you rent that tractor/trailer that appears on all four worthless pages of your web site?
Based on your chicken scrap web site alone, I tend to belive the reports at Realdrivers.com.
Heres a helpful piece of advice Cypress: Fire your web master and set up a site that is helpful; or you will not get too many calls from experienced drivers.
P.S.- I am not looking for a job (and if I was I would not consider your company), however---a lot of people do their research on the web when looking for a job.
And right now Realdrivers.com has more information on your company than you do.

Answer:
We had there recruiter at our school this week.I asked how much do you get for tarping (recruiter) nothing, most loads are pre-tarped already just add bungie cords and tighten straps.I asked how much do you have to pay or put down for a deposit on equipment (recruiter) nothing at all.(Recruiter) tarping is easy you get your hands and arms dirty and that is it if you know what your doing???? Asked about detion and layover pay, got a snow storm story instead.I left him alone after that, I think after the second question he had herd all he wanted to hear out of me.Wasnt trying to be a jerk I just wanted to see what he had to say.
