Setting your mirrors right
Question:
When setting the mirrors on your truck, keep in mind that if you can see the bunk of your truck, you have the mirrors set to far in. All you should see in your mirrors is a sliver of trailer in the inner most edge of your mirrors. This lets you see the farther out to the side with the outer edge of your mirror.
Your convex mirror should be set so that can see what is close to your drives and also where your trailer wheels are at when turned 45 degrees. When you are turned to this point your main mirror will not be able to show you what is happening with the trailer, but your convex mirror will let you see. This will work for turns up to 65 - 70 degress.
Also keep your mirrors clean. If you have a dirty mirror, then by all means clean it if you have some difficult maneuvering to do.
If your maneuvering has the trailer out of all your mirrors, then G.O.A.L.

I have my right side convex mirror set so that I can just barely see the lower back corner of my sleeper (from the edge closest to the truck). Gives me a clear view of anything that might be hiding right next to my drive tires and sleeper.
Left side is set almost the same way.
