Well, if you are currently considering getting a CDL there are multiple practice tests complete with answers available!
I have used these study materials myself and breezed through written tests in 3 different states (Minnesota, Iowa, and California) when I transfered my CDL from state to state over the years.
These study materials cover class A basics like: General Knowledge, Combinations, and Air Brakes but it doesn't stop there!
It also includes special endorsments such as: Hazardous Materials (haz-mat), Tankers, Doubles & Triples, and even Passenger.

But I downloaded and condensed it into MS Word Format and can email it to anyone interested in using it without being online for long durations.
It is the exact information as the web link listed above, the only difference is I made more user friendly... So it can be printed or simply used without internet connection because it can be rather time consuming to go through all the different practice tests on so many different topics.
You will need Microsoft Word (or MS Office) software to open the documents but if you have it, the offline info is yours for the asking!

I think the biggest secret in passing the written exam is to NOT memorize the book. It is way too easy to get yourself confused if you try to commit every word of the manual to memeory. Read the book a few times. Pay close attention to the stuff bold printed, the stuff in the margins and the questions at the end of each section.
The second big secret to passing the CDL exams is to take your time when taking the tests and carefully read each question and each answer. While the questions generally are not really difficult a single word in a question or answer can change things real fast.

Rokki (choclit snda) helped me out BIG TIME when she turned me on to this material. I have aced the DMV written tests of three different states over the years (everytime I relocated and had to renew my CDL). This info really helped me and can help others in the same way! So I am just passing it on- in the "Pay it Forward" kind of way Ha! Ha!
