My friend drives for millis, cant say nuff good things about them, 500 bucks for the school , and you run east of the miss( i kinda think that sucks) but they are good to him. Im in the same boat w ya, I dont want to get stuck that side of the miss.US xpress has auto shifts, cuts the job in half Im told...but then your stuck there......Im thinking about running teams w CRST.....they claim to have the longest haul average in the business, but there all liers so, get so vasoline and sign up LOL Jk ........Jan 4 th there are alot of industry changes, thats my que, good luck..........

Answer:
Try www.MillisTransfer.com, www.Roehl.Net or www.Schneider.com These 3 companies will train you and have excellent reputations.
With Millis, either you get your CDL through their school or they require at least one year of OTR experience. If you have your CDL and Millis is not available to you, look at www.Roehl.Net, www.Schneider.com and www.Werner.com
If anyone suggests JB Hunt, the last I heard they require at least 6 months OTR experience.
Note: the first quarter of the year freight is traditionaly slow.

Answer:
Something I learned about JB Hunt recently. This was from my instructor. Though JB Hunt says they pay .28 to .41 per mile, that is only per LOADED mile. They only pay .19 per empty mile. Not necessarily bad, but something you should know. And they won't tell you unless you specifically ask.

Answer:
that fits your needs. Ask recruiters about local/dedicated runs. I would reccomend going to www.pumpkindriver.com to get the skinny on Schneider. I don't know if the others have similar sites.
Look at the big picture. What will benefits cost you? What are the benefits like? What will your pay be like after 1 year. You would be surprised at the difference in that one alone. Wil-Trans, I believe, takes newbies, and you get to drive a long nose Peterbilt. However you will make .24 cpm forever. No raises.
What is hometime like, and is it guaranteed. Getting you home around the 18 is different than getting home on the 18th.
I know Taxibob is very happy over at Willis Shaw. The CPM isn't great, but he is happy, and sometimes that is much more important. I can tell you he made a lot more at Hills Bros., but was heading for a stroke with all the stress.
