Starting Class Dec. 1st. (Roehl)
Question:
It's is a sure thing now starting class Dec 1st w/ Roehl in Marshfield. I thought I was going to have to wait but some guys dropped out because of the holidays. They are going to run classes 6 days to get us done before Christamas.
I am quite excited about this new career. And look forward to all that comes my way.
Hope to see some of you Roehl driver's around the terminals.
I will keep a running post on how my progress is going during class and training etc...
One question for the Roehl drivers, a bit on the silly side but wondering just the same. Does Roehl allow pets such as a dog with you while your on the road? Figure it helps while out on the road bit of protection but more mostly just to have a friend, lol

Answer:
The company policy on pets is, no pets. I think it really blows myself. Also the rider policy sucks also, especially for me. You can only take your spouse or child. I am single and no children. I struck out on both.

Answer:
That rider policy does suck.

Answer:
I had looked into them for schooling. That is on of the things that turned me away from them. If you take a look at theirs and other companies you will see a bit of a difference, as with any company.
Hey, if life throws you a curve ball, try and take a swing at it. Who knows what might happen

Answer:
I guess in a way it does suck, but I think it was because of bad past experiences. A driver left his pet in a truck overnite and the truck got trashed real bad. Face it, some pets don't belong in trucks, some dogs raise hell with things, cat pi$$ makes a truck reek forever.
The rider policy is a little different than most, I took my wife for about a month and it cost approx. 5-7 bucks a day for insurance for her. Hey at least she's covered in case anything happens. Most carriers they have you sign a form saying their not responsible for any injuries, etc. It would be nice to take a girlfriend/boyfriend or other family member along, but I guess they march to the insurance co.'s drummer.
Better to have it and not need it as need it and not have it!Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off!
The more I see and read about Republicans and Democrats, the more I wish we had an Independent Party.
IMPEACH BUSH!!!!!!!!!!

Answer:
I knew the rider policy before I started. It was the only real negative that Roehl had for me. It was my intention then, and now to get my year out of the way the re-evaluate my situation. This may come as a shock to some members here that think I am on a crusade and a Roehl "cheerleader" but when my year is up I might be running for someone else. As I have said many times, IMHO, Roehl is one of the best opportunities for a new driver to start with. They are not a "perfect" company, there is no such thing. If you go to work for them you will have issues, I can guarantee this, just as the sun rises in the East. But at the end of the day, there are alot worse companies you could be with starting out.

Answer:
It was the only negative I had with Roehl too. It isn't enough to be a deal breaker for me though.

Answer:
I had a pet along - it was stuffed. Never had to worry about feeding it or trashing the truck. My daughter gave it to me to keep me company. As far as the rider policy, even if it is a family member - they may be in for a rude awakeing once you get rolling and they realize life in a truck in not a smooth ride like a 4-wheeler and the hours we put in to bring home a paycheck.

Answer:
I dont suppose that your "pet" happend to be a large stuffed Tigger?
If so, then we have run together. We took a load up to Michigan at the hospital from Wisconsin.

Answer:
I had a stuffed "Taz" in the truck. Don't recall running to the U.P. with you Buzzdog. But now I think I remember a driver with a large Tigger in the right hand seat, but I forgot his name.
