Best tutorial of the New HOS
Question:
Landstar has one of the best tutorial I’ve seen on the new HOS. This is a big plus for them. I think everyone should advise the shippers of the changes since productivity per unit will drop. Therefore rates should be raised. Here is the tutorial: New HOS LS Tutorial The*Truck Answer: The *Truck, thank you for bringing this to the forums. I'll copy the thread to several other forums. That way I can read it and learn it between now and Jan 4th. It's pretty clear and easy to understand. ******************************* "Got the bird dog on... New: 11 Hours driving 10 Hours off (you gain 1 more hour to drive, but spend another hour off, same rule just bigger) Benefit? Now: your total on duty and driving time cannot exceed 15 hours. New: Total on duty and Driving time cannot exceed 14 hours. Benefit? The best part and the only benefit I can see is that after 36 hours off, your clock restarts. I must be missing somthing, because I dont see what these rules were designed to fix. Seems like the same rules with a bigger window. It took how long? to come up with this. Please, sombody, tell me what im missing. Ike --> "The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it." Albert Einstein Answer: For posting this link. It has made the new changes a lot easier to understand once you see the sample logs. The one thing that still has me confused is how will you do the re-cap for your 70hrs/8day if the clock resets after being off for 36 hrs?
