I've been tryin to keep up with the new HOS and I can say for sure, that I'm totally lost. Thank heavens that I have a local job that is on the 100 air-mile rule. I just hope that hasn't changed.

Well, you won't be missing a thing. Those rules aren't firm yet, and will most likely be revised several times before it is all done with. Some here just like to go back and forth on various issues with each other. The silliness of the split berth rules will go away, hopefully.
driving local will make you a real truck driver, and not a tourist piddling around a few months before they quit, like most newbies will do.
