are there a age limit on companies that train you or any company ? how old is to old to get training for cdl through a company.....

I was 52 when I got mine through Stevens Transport. I've been told 59 might be a tough age to get it at.

As long as you can Pass the CDL test, D.O.T.Physical, & Drug test.
When I was a trnr I had a 52yr old woman as a student & her 54yr old hubby was also going thru trning.

2)My insurance company says anyone between 21 and 60 with at least one year experience AND a relatively good driving record is O.K. But they can and will make exceptions on the 60 policy on a case-by-case basis.

There's a 78 year old gentleman who lives a mile from here still driving every day and takes the occassional long haul job for a couple of months a year; still gets out and works on his truck nearly every weekend. Just need to keep passing those physicals, and you will have a job somewhere driving a big truck.

Answer:
One co. where I used to work, the owners Dad was in his 80's and was driving til last year and could'nt pass the vision test, and his Dr said his blood sugar was too high. Did'nt drive every day, usually just during peak times in spring/fall. I think it depends a lot on the insurance.
Better to have it and not need it as need it and not have it!Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off!
