SCHNEIDER?????????
Question:
Hey. You guys that have been around for a while. What do you think of running with SCHNEIDER for my first year in the biz? Answer: Not a bad choice, as far as I'm concerned. Although I've never driven for them, they do have a very large freight base that should keep you moving. I believe that they are the largest privately-owned and operated trucking company in the United States. You may not get a fancy truck when you finish training, but I doubt that you'll sit for very long with the amount of business they have. Some of the other newbie companies like Millis and Roehl will put you in a better truck with higher starting pay, but they don't have the freight to keep you moving like Schneider does. If I were to start all over again, I'd go to Schneider and request the tanker division. After your initial training they will send you to an advanced course for tanker training and then you will be qualified to drive a tanker (after going out with a trainer for awhile). Do a year or two there and then get yourself a great local job running tankers with a gas\chemical company. You'll get excellent hourly pay with overtime, top-notch benefits, no waiting at receivers, and no hand-unloads. http://www.subway.com Answer: Schneider IS A Great Company. Lots of freight, Decent equipment. Very few Cabovers left. Most are issued Hoods. Exellent Benifits as well. So Go Orange Dude.
