ROEHL
Question:
Wondering what driver's at Roehl are bringing home $$. Saw someone say that a couple Roehl drivers were making around $50 a week?? Obviously something not right here. How do they cover fuel, tolls etc. Thinking of going flatbed with them after I get through training. Any info from Roehl drivers would be great ! Any info from fellow Roehl driver would be great Answer: I'd say I have been averaging around 2700 miles a week or so. The take home for me is averaging in the mid $600 range or so. This is an average!! You have to realize that there will be weeks that you do not get squat for miles because of home time or you could not get the paper work scanned in on time. Case in point the trip I am on right now. I deliver in Mattpoisett, MA on Friday morning. It is a 1400 mile trip, but there is no way I will be able to get the trip scanned in by noon on Friday, so this milage wil go on the check a week later. That check will be above average. As far as fuel goes, you are assigned fuel cards. For toll's Roehl has Ohio and PA toll cards. All other tolls you have to pay, but you are re-imbursed for the tolls when the trip is scanned in. For this little trip and my back haul I am going to end up paying out over $100 in tolls, but I will paid back for it. I had to go over the bridge in Michigan coming out of the UP. Crossed at Port Huron, came into Buffalo, the NY toll road (I-90), the MA turnpike. My back haul will take me through NYC across the George Washington and down the NJ turnpike. I have not checked where I am going out of NJ yet, hopefully they will send me through PA, that way I can start using there toll cards. As far as the drivers saying they only made $50 in a week they are not telling the whole story. Once you get acclimated to Roehl you will figure out what you have to do to stay rolling and rack up the miles. Alot of it has to do with good time management. Try to always get to your destination 8 hours before your appointment. This way you can get your 8 hour break out of the way and when you are empty you have 10 hours to drive, as long as you are not out of your 70. This also gives your fleet manager alot more options on getting you a trip out of there. There are places where you may have up to a 300 mile deadhead just to get your next load. DRIVER BY CHOICE Buzzdog Answer: USMC Check your e-mail inbox. Sent you a response with alot of info. IBStrollin Answer: I'm on Roehl's curtainside division. IMHO, the ONLY place to be. I am contemplating switching to the 7/3 7/4 fleet if I can stay on curtainsides and I can find a couple of dudes in my area to share trucks with. With the new HOS rules coming in Jan., I think this is the place to be. The scanning system works like a charm. Should have had it years ago. We're busy enough--give 'em a call. Better to have it and not need it as need it and not have it!Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off! Answer: They either took out a lot of advances or they spent it on too many hookers OR they sat on their dead asses too much I usually have been averaging 2400-2500 paid miles/week. We have a lot of multi-stop loads, so we get extra stop pay. I figure on making around 45-47K this year.
