So far what my recruiter said--is true....and everything has turn out that way a bit....
the only thing lacking is--is getting a load..but the reason behind that--is i need the NYS permit...I want it now...cuz....I live in NYS...But I figure...I want....everything to be offical before..I take this truck out of here...
As my truck- I got ...It was decent....not to many problems...clean....as for miles a little under 500,000... but like all of us here... the trucks were around that...

My hubby, Frank (aka Steelbreezzz), drives for Crete. He started with them on May 15, 2001, drove 70,000 miles and was sitting in a BRAND NEW Freightliner on August 26, 2001!
He left Crete in May 2002 and went to a dedicated run with JB Hunt/Gambro Renal Products. He was unhappy with unfulfilled promises made there and went back to Crete in October 2002. When he went back to Crete, they put him in another brand new Freightliner!!!

Answer:
That probably depends on who you go to work for. Some companies may assign all new trucks to senior drivers and give their old trucks to new drivers.
Other companies don't do that and simply give the new truck to the driver whose truck is ready for trade due to high mileage. Most companies have a set mileage that they trade all their trucks in at. However, with the economy as it is now and concerns about new truck engines, I think you will find more companies stretching their fleet's mileage before trade-in in order to try and maximize profits.
If you happen to work for one of the companies who gives the driver of the traded truck the new truck regardless of seniority then getting an old truck close to trade-in time is a good thing.
Hubby started with Swift in an old dirty, truck with around 450,000 miles on it. We were told by other drivers it would be traded soon. He had a breakdown on his first trip
We were hanging around outside the terminal waiting on truck to be fixed that first week and a guy came and lit a cigarette and started talking to us. He asked Hubby how it was going and Hubby told him it would be much better if he had a decent truck and or a new truck. So the guy asked some more questions and then introduced himself as the terminal manager
He went over to the shop and gave them directions in what he wanted to see happen with the truck and instructed them it needed to be repaired properly even though it was close to trade time. Hubby drove the old truck for about 6-8 weeks and then he was dispatched to Phoenix to pick up a new truck
Even though Hubby didn't know WHO he was complaining to it worked for us, lol. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets greased first, but once it gets greased it better run hard and quietly and not KEEP squeaking.

Answer:
the driving cont. with USX. I have a little better luck with auto now. I guess its goin just take a little time. like with everything else.
As for what little snow and slick roads...I was coming along the buckeye state the other night. I am not sure.I am going to enjoy. the shifting of it. I guess. in life u cant have everything perfect.
Another thing is some trucks- when the jake comes on. U have to step on the brake pedal. before it comes on. And some trucks u dont have to do that.
Though I wouldnt recommand a newbie out of school to use these. I feel its good for someone that has a bad shoudler or where it hurts to shift sometimes. I knock up my shoulder last march being a bad car accident. So its easier and alot less pain. But as for the pay. I got decent pay.
Though I dont like the fueling up thing with USX so far. I am not happy about that part of them. Of course-they dont tell u this till u are like end of 2nd day in oreination.
But I will cont. let u know what happens as I what I think more of it.

Answer:
I am HOME!!!! yeppie skippy Well ever since the last time I spoke. I have a few more opinions on USX.
Lately the last few weeks have been SLOW!! but it is the season-its starting to get slow here and there.
As for the automatics-I have adjusted to them.
The biggist problem that I have found to be is the fueling.
They assigned the fuel stop on the qualcomm. and YOU have to fuel there or u get a $15.00 if u dont. I have been fined a couple times. Cuz I have has the low fuel light come on. Well that comes on. I going to pull in the first place-where they sell fuel.
There is ways getting around that-like making phones and using the qualcomm to msg the fuel dept.
but one night-I was on hold for an hr and half. so now...either I just pull in fuel and screw it or try to get ahold of someone.
As for my dispatcher-she is ok. So far. everything is pretty decent...just your usual BS here and there-like normal.
But USX is a somewhat of a team trucking firm. I get loads that teams should do sometimes. Like they want me to go 1800 miles in full day period.
They change that a bit. Because **** well my 10 is up and its up. And no one has forced me (yet) to keep moving.
They have kinda figure out how I run. If that is truth of the matter-or its just me wishing in my mind.
But I hope-this gives a POV of the matter of USX. I try to keep letting everyone know whats going on-down the road.
