Numerous studies show speed variences caused by speed limiters will increase the accident rate . The goal of ATA members is to keep costs low by keeping wages low .

My miles have been fairly low, but I started during this slow freight time. a few facts other than listed:
1)pay hmg miles. (you lose at least 10%of miles paid)
2)don't pay for all of your experience
3)they hold almost everyone over the 3 day orientation to verify employment. I was there 5 days and I already had 10 years exp. They were worried about one place.
4) dispatcher gives me a hard time about going home after two weeks out and I have caught them changing my time off request twice.
5) you have to do several things to get paid extras like loading/unloading pay (if you chose to do it) aka nickel and dime you out of money.
6)ridiculous fueling program that has you getting 72 gallons at many locations (hard to rack up showers or any decent points at any single truckstop company), they use them all
7)Pilot a majority of the time, no need to say more about that.
8)anal about warrantys on trucks. no holes in trucks, don't want you using antigel.
Not the best out there to work for, but theres worse too.
