Looking for a home!
Question:
I am a student at a PDTI school in Md. I would like to find a good job OTR that will be one I will want to stay with. I dont have a preference about what I pull Just want a good job. I have long hair do you think I should get it cut ? It is always tied back and clean. Just looking for the best chance. I have a clean record and am 43 years old. Thanks in advance!

Answer:
My hubby chopped his nearly to his butt hair for his first driving job.
Big mistake ..learned he could have just used several ponytail holders and would have got hired, as there were several drivers with long hair at his orientation class..
I suggest if your hair is very long to just make it look well kept, wear the ponytail holders and a baseball cap if you want..
Guys with long hair can look just as groomed as guys with short hair..
My husband makes sure to be clean shaven and well groomed and wears a baseball cap when applying for jobs and I dont think anyone even notices he has long hair. If they do, it has not hurt him, he had been hired by both co's with the long hair..
My hubby actually cut his hair off as a newbie going to work for CR England years ago..
Turned out they hired anybody anyway..
It won't hurt to have long hair when applying as long as you look well kept and groomed...
Hubbys'hair is almost the length it was when he first cut it, so only do it if you want to spend years letting grow back

Answer:
Looks don't count in trucking. You will see this first hand on the road.

Answer:
Thanks "Me" and "Phoneman" I didnt want to cut it and neither does my wife want me to.

Answer:
though short hair is easier to manage while on the truck. The choice is entirely yours.
I will always be a mutter trucker at heart.
