Yeah, I know what I've told ya........but that's &
Question:
I've had my truck for many many moons. This last week found me doing more sitting than rolling. I hate that since I do get bored real easily. --> Anyways, since I bought my truck, I've scrimped, saved and been 'penny wise and pound foolish' and vice-versa...... This last weekend while hanging out in Florida and Southern Georgia I got really bored....... Yeah, I had my laptop, but I couldn't get that good of a 'fix' from it. I talked with my wife and we decided (since I managed to score a FREE 3 drawer filing cabinet that fits in my closet --> ), that I could buy a 12v. electric cooler ($99.99..since I'm hardly ever out long enough to need a 'real' fridge), a curtain to cover both side windows and the windshield ($19.99..that way I don't have every crackerhead wandering the lot looking in at me) , and a 2004 laminated atlas ($29.95) ) The thing is, I paid cash for everything WITHOUT putting a dent in my bank account or the way I live. --> ******************************* "Got the bird dog on... After consulting spouse(if have one) then only if we have scored a neat thing for the truck..at no charge! Then we can shop for neat, needed things. As long as they only make a DING not a dent in the cash or checking/savings accounts! Just harrassing ya Hoss! -->--> Hope you enjoy the home time!! Answer: Mine is one of those 45 dollar plug into cih lighter ones. Made to fit a touch over a 12 pack. I wanna say its a 10.5 litre fits my sammiches and lunch for the day perfectly. I am just a trucknapper though. Not like you, you big chicken haulin stud Answer: Nice to see how you can drop $150.00 HOSS and in CASH no less. But did you not post on how you failed to get financing on a used W900L KW last year ?. Answer: Originally posted by Can Man: Nice to see how you can drop $150.00 HOSS and in CASH no less. But did you not post on how you failed to get financing on a used W900L KW last year ?. I 'didn't fail' to get financing on that W900L that I was looking at. The dealer wouldn't drop his price and I wouldn't raise my offer. There was a $8000 difference to what he wanted and what I offered. I had even upped my offer. We never came to terms on the truck. About 6 weeks later, I found out too late that the dealer closed the doors with the truck still on the lot. The truck went on the auction block. Besides, my Pete is almost paid off. --> --> I kinda like the idea of having NO truck payments for a while. --> So, any other questions? ******************************* "Got the bird dog on... That's nice. The laminate is better than from years passed, it has no glare. I haven't owned a laminated one since I bought one 1989. That one I finally gave any years later to another driver. I given away a lot of old atlas's over the years. Some to 4 wheelers I've met, others to newbies. I have money points saved up on my T/A fuel, I think I'll buy the new Larger print Laminated. I still have a large print regular McNally atlas I bought several years ago. Looks like I'll be giving that away to a needy soul. Answer: I don't think he will HOSS , he just went and bought another truck ( 660 VOLVO Condo ) to add to the 2000 MACK he bought last year for " CASH " Seems like he has his act together and is doing very well has bought to MINT trucks for well below market value by looking around. But he did have the facts on your W900L you had posted about the BANK MANAGER being leary on doing the deal and about holding the note, nothing about the $ difference between your offer and the asking price. Answer: But he did have the facts on your W900L you had posted about the BANK MANAGER being leary on doing the deal and about holding the note, nothing about the $ difference between your offer and the asking price. That's why the bank manager was leary of the deal, because of the difference in price. He, along with myself, didn't think the truck was worth the extra money. THAT'S WHY I didn't get the truck. Besides Can Man & Flatbed, there's a hell of a lot of difference between $150 and the price of that truck. The purpose of this original post was because a lot of newbies hit the road with little or no money to their name, then max out their cash advances each week buying all the 'gadgets", then wonder why they aren't making any money. ******************************* Member: Happy Dweller Society Owner Operator Division Answer: I bought a $9.99 DVD last week and ate in a truck stop once. Also bought one of those electronic pocket mileage things for $20.00. Is that bad? --> I'm thinking 2 DVD's next week. "There is just something about fresh winter snow and a river. You post alot of info on here for the newbie that is very useful but at the same time 95% is just common sense. Answer: Well Hoss I appreciate you coming in the newbies. It's nice to see a driver with more than 3 years experience giving advice. I wish more long time drivers would give advice here instead of the superposters with little experience. And yes for the rest of you that have been around a while, your appreciated also. Now, I want to buy 5 DVD's next week. Got to fix the budget a little. --> "There is just something about fresh winter snow and a river.
