Hey John Q
Question:
I never did get a chance to check back to what the answer was on when you had to have a tanker endorsement for a CDL. Will you enlighten me please. Answer: Ok since John Q seems to be absent does anyone else know the actual answer to that question he posed about the tanker? I was just curious. Answer: either a permanant liquid or gas tank or a portable with a rated capacity of 1,000 gallons or more. BTW, dry bulks are not tanks. Answer: The answer was covered in detail, however since the old topics are gone and CJ has some misconceptions we will cover it again. CJ says: Under federal standards, this is the wrong answer. In regard to CDL’s this is correct. Notice the words in bold letters.
Portable Tanks Part 171 If a cargo tank is mounted in the back of a truck such as a 550 gallon water tank and a CDL is required the driver would be required to have a “N” or “X” endorsement for any tank over 119 gallons."If men were angels...No government would be necessary." 51st Federalist Papers "Nichols' Fourth Law says, "Avoid any action with an unacceptable outcome" Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
