Answer: MTC driving school in St Louis dose alot of CDL training for them. I guess they have a ok deal. Work a year nad you do not owe anything. Automatic trucks. Lots of dedicated auto freight.202 N Main Street Summerfield Il 62289 TRUCK PARKING AVAILABLE! Answer: Based on the drivers I have talked with you could do worse wuth a start up company. The one thing that bothers me though is that it seems they tend to run trainer trucks as teams. Can not verify this, just passing along something that I have heard several times so you may want to ask about it before signing up. Answer: well what i was most interested in is THE SCHOOL itself... im not goin to work for PAM... im gonna be sponsered by SRT out of Ashdown Arkansas, but ASU is the school that they use... so my question is about the school more than anything else... thanks for the help guys... Answer: It doesn't look like anyone knows much about PAM. Nothing more than guessing anyway. I know most their trailers are kind of ugly. If you are going to go with SRT as a trainee they have a pretty good program. It can take as little as 3 weeks or as long as needed. It depends on you and the trainer you get. As far as trainers go if you get one you can't get along with they will put you in aother truck without much question. I tend to think as a training company they are a good choice. As company driver when you go solo you will get alot of long coast to coast hauls. You will also get the stuck in Texas hauls from time to time. They will keep you moving and most the short runs will line you up for a long one. Their open door policy is just that. You can speak with who ever you need to if you have a problem to resolve. A word of caution they do not tolerate bad mouthing in dispatch or on the phone. Overall they are an OK choice for a reefer OTR company. You could do worse. Answer: www.pamt.com , now offering a $1,000.00 sign on bonus for trainees and Upping the starting pay to $38,000.00 year Answer: Can't seem to find the sign on Bonus on their site. I'll look a little more unless some one wants to point to it. Answer: Try www.otrdrivers.com/network_pam.htm Answer: Thanks Flatbed Well they pay new drivers better than some. I have to worry a little about the $40. weekly deal. Basicall you will get a check for around $750 after a year and no CDL school debt. It could be worse. if you quit your not out a big loan amount. Some finance schools at 5-7000 bucks. Then leave and owe a bunch of money. So maybe a deal like this is better because your credit and finances won't suffer if you quit. I prefer company training anyway because you know you have a job and you dont have to take a big loan to get it. Others prefere private thinking you have more freedeom to go where you want after school. You really don't because you have to stay at the first company you choose for a set period of time or you have to pay the loans yourself. Since you should stay at your first company atleast a year and you wont have to worry about finding a job or paying loans I like the idea of company training. They are more realistic on 1st year weekly earnings and yearly earnings. Well actually a little high but not the big numbers some companies throw out there. I've seen worse deals. Answer: Your welcome Answer: Depending on length of haul, US Xpress pays .37-.41 cpm for one year's experience. Answer: I haven't heard a bad thing about P.A.M. My responce to that is no news is usually good news. Its the ones you hear about the most I would be causious of.
